During your paramedic training, you will participate in numerous workplace-based assessments, provided everything runs optimally.

If your training program utilizes the preparedEPA app, you will likely experience several assessments based on the EPA scheme (Entrustable Professional Activities encompass the professional activities involved in our everyday paramedic duties). Your supervisors and trainers can offer a feedback session following each assessment, which typically takes only 35 seconds, and document one or more learning objectives at the end. It is important to address these learning objectives promptly.

There's no longer a need to write progress notes on paper. Instead, you can perform a self-assessment directly in the prepared app, whether you are on duty, just after handling an emergency, traveling home after work, or relaxing at home.

This allows you to precisely track your progress in developing competencies. With prepared your competency gets visible and supervisors know exactly which tasks you already can fulfill alone, where you need still some support and what you have not performed until know. The last points will enable you to fill these “empty spots” in your curriculum quickly.
